what is a website and its types?

A website is a collection of related web page which a particular domain name is pointed to and published on a server.

There are two main types of websites, they are the static and dynamic websites

Static websites are websites which have the same page information every time or everywhere irrespective of the location of the user. Static websites are made for businesses with less information and do not need frequent updates. Technically, a static website has its information save with a server which links with each page of the website. That means if two or more pages are to be updated with the same information, they must be done manually i.e. you must provide the same information to each of the pages one after the other.

Dynamic websites are more technically designed so that if two or more pages are to be fed with the same updates, the updates with automatically appear on the other pages after one page is updated. Another characteristic of a dynamic website is that information provided to the user is decisive with their location. That is to say that, a dynamic website can be authorized to give different information to users in different locations. Websites with language translator are typical example of a dynamic website, which will give interpreted information to users based on their location or country.
