Private schools on the other hand are owned by individual private businessmen that are also finding their own means of drawing pupils to their schools. As compared with the state owned schools which are nowadays very cheap or better still free to attend, the cost of attending private basic schools in Ghana is increasing. This phenomenon has created a huge competition on the intra and extra on the part of private school. It is obvious that there is a high drift of pupils from the private sector to the government sector due the reality that the cost of education in the government sector schools is cheap. This has created a huge tension in the enrollment on both sides. Though a great number of well-to-do parents are still admitting their wards in very expensive private schools all in the name of "good education"- that is not disputable though.

Private schools are left with no choice than to compete for the remaining who have found private schools to be the better option. In this case, private schools are employing any possible means of surviving and to survive will now depend on proper management and administration. We recently noticed that most private schools are employing proper management and administration but are not seen or found hence poor enrolment. On the other hand, others are not employing proper administration and management and are also dwindling in enrollment. Those who are winning massive enrollment nowadays are those with proper management and also investing in their visibility.

What does this boil down to? The world is now exponentially advancing and those who are able to catch up with the moment become successful. During our survey, we noticed most schools have poor online branding and as part of it about 90% of schools in Ghana lack custom websites and good online presence and even the remaining 10% completely lack online presence or websites. 

The following are the reasons why most schools have poor online branding and do not have websites.

IT IS EXPENSIVE

YES, due to the difference in the dollar and cedi currencies. This situation is ascribed chiefly on the fact that the cost of building a website is very expensive because of the cedi—dollar rates. If a website builder is costing about $150 plus the freelancer's workmanship of say, $150, this means you, the client is paying over ₵3000. NO DESIRE FOR BRANDING

Another reason why most school do not have a website is because they lack the desire and do not know importance of online branding. No desire for business branding is a bad business ethic. Why would a customer choose one company over the other? The answer is good branding. Branding is a very essential tool for business expansion. Big companies invest massively in branding and it is true that they get their returns. 

MY BUSINESS IS BOOMING ALREADY

There are school that have massive admissions but do not have good online presence or website and their reason is that they are doing fine. The question is, during the COVID -19 Pandemic lockdown, if you had a vital information to dispatch to your pupils' guardians how would you have done that?
